Meet Dr. Yoong

Caring For Patients Since 2000

Dr. Benedict I. Yoong, DDS

Dr. Ben is known for his gentle touch and somewhat magical ability to make people’s smiles not only healthier but also a little more dream-worthy. He’s all about improving health, appearance, and self-esteem—because who doesn’t want to look in the mirror and think, “Wow, I did look great before, but now I look even better!” And, of course, he makes sure your teeth, gums, and bite are all functioning like well-oiled machines while he’s at it.

Having lived in Ventura most of his life, Dr. Ben has a deep understanding of the local community—so, if you need a recommendation for the best lunch spot, he’s probably your guy (he’ll try not to make it sound like a life-changing revelation). After graduating from St. Bonaventure High School, he went on to earn his biology degree from the University of California, Irvine, and then his dental degree from the University of the Pacific in 2000. Yes, he’s been in the game for a while—just a couple of decades of experience, no big deal.

But Dr. Ben doesn’t rest on his laurels. He stays up to date with the latest dental tech and techniques through monthly meetings with the Channel Islands Dental Forum, an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club. He’s always learning, because who can really say “I know everything” about dentistry? Well, probably a few people, but they’re not the ones you want working on your teeth.

As a member of the ADA, CDA, and the Santa Barbara Ventura County Dental Society, Dr. Ben’s professional credentials are impressive—but honestly, he’s just more concerned with providing the best care he can. He doesn’t need to be famous; he’s content knowing his patients leave feeling healthier, happier, and with a smile they’re proud to show off (even if it takes a little prodding to get them to smile in the first place).

Outside of the office, Dr. Ben enjoys spending time with his wife, Casey, and their daughter, Audrey—because family time is the real highlight. He also spends his free time golfing (he’s humble enough to admit he’s still working on his game), curling (yes, the broom sport, and no, he doesn’t wear the fancy pants), and trying out different cuisines. Yes, trying. His search for the perfect dish is ongoing. But hey, that’s just what makes him, well… him.
